National Latina Mental Health Awareness Week
National Latina Mental Health Awareness Week —May 10th to May 16th, 2023
Latina Professionals is pleased to announce its inaugural National Latina Mental Health Awareness Week from May 10th to May 16th, 2023. The week-long event aims to raise awareness and promote the importance of mental health within the Latina community, as well as provide resources and support for Latinas and their families.
Mental health is a critical issue that affects the well-being of all individuals, including Latinas. However, the Latina community often faces unique challenges that can make accessing mental health services difficult. These challenges include language barriers, cultural stigma, lack of insurance coverage, and limited access to culturally responsive care.
National Latina Mental Health Awareness Week will provide a platform for the Latina community to come together and learn about the importance of mental health, as well as the resources and support available to them. The week will feature a variety of virtual events, including webinars, workshops, and panel discussions, all of which will be conducted in Spanish and English.
National Mental Health Awareness Week is the perfect time to start talking openly and honestly about mental health. Let’s break the stigma and encourage each other to prioritize our mental well-being.
Our Goal
raise awareness & access to mental health resources
support and collaborate with women of all professions; we are leading with purpose and our passion.
Together, building the world’s most influential community of Latinas.
Latina Professionals partners with Me, Massiel and I for National Latina Mental Health Awareness Week —May 10th to May 16th, 2023
During National Latina Mental Health Awareness week, Latina Professionals will be partnering with Me, Massiel & I. Together they will share a comprehensive list of resources and support for mental health.
Me, Massiel, & I is a movement that aims to empower Latinas by providing a supportive community for connection, reflection, mindfulness practice, self-care, and goal achievement through activities such as group discussions, workshops, and self-care resources. This movement was founded by Wendy Massiel Zacarias. Through this partnership, we will be able to include information on mental health services, support groups, and cultural resources. Something very much needed in our community.
