Meet the Founders

Kimberly Magaña

Kimberly Magaña, has seen first-hand that empowering women can bring transformational change. She strongly believes that when women gather, they go further together.

She studied at Washington State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Interior Design and minored in Business Administration from Washington State University. She found her way into management and sales of high-end luxury home goods. She currently is a Regional Sales Representative with Design Within Reach (DWR) Contract were she works with commercial and hospitality clients.

Today, she lives with her husband in Los Angeles, California and enjoys giving back through Philanthropy and is an advocate of the gender equal boardroom movement. Serves as Board Chair overseeing the growth of the organization as a whole.

But women have not been alone in their battle towards progress, many men have joined forces with women and supported their movement. We are putting a spotlight on Rafael Magaña who not only has a big heart for giving back, he has been a loud voice and advocate for women’s advancement and gender diversity in boardrooms movement which proves that men can be allies too.

Rafael Magaña

Latina Professionals founder, Rafael Magaña, has been working to advance gender equality on multiple fronts. Not only has he been a vocal advocate against sexual exploitation and trafficking — issues that disproportionately affect women and young girls, according to the United Nations (UN) — he also uses his voice to bring attention to the gender diversity in boardrooms movement.

Early in high school and college he became involved with charity organizations on campus where he enjoyed giving back. The experience proved to be the start of a career in philanthropy.

He studied at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. He received his certification on Human Rights from the Pan American Health Organization, part of the United Nations system, serving as the Regional Office for the Americas of the World Health Organization.

Rafael is the Senior Director of Development at Emphysema Foundation of America and Breathe Southern California. Two organizations at the forefront of lung health and clean air. Previously, he was the Senior Director of Development at Momentum, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing lifespan services to children and adults with disabilities and medical conditions.

Most recently, Rafael was elected and appointed to the board of trustees of the Hollywood Schoolhouse for the next three years. Where he serves as the Chair of the Development Committee under the leadership of Ilise Faye, Head of School and John Sonego, Associate Dean for External Affairs at UCLA School of Law.

Mr. Magaña’s most important association is his involvement in Latina Professionals™, Latino Professionals™ and Latinx Professionals™ for which he is the Founder and serves as a Board Director. He enjoys writing about topics related to management, leadership, and careers.

Today, he serves as a mentor to many rising women who are advancing their professional careers towards the C-suite.

Managing Director

Diana Kleps Perez

Diana is a dynamic and inspiring leader, proudly serving as the Managing Director of Latina Professionals, where she empowers and uplifts women through mentorship, advocacy, and community building. Born in the Dominican Republic and raised in New York City, she is a bilingual (English and Spanish) working mother of two, an outdoor enthusiast, national speaker, and a passionate advocate for diversity, inclusion, and education.

With over 18 years of experience in leadership, relationship management, and client experience, Diana has honed her ability to drive growth, foster collaboration, and deliver exceptional results. She is a visionary in business development, sales strategy, and strategic execution, with a proven track record of building resilient, high-performing teams and organizations. Her expertise spans technology solutions, PropTech, FinTech, communications, and finance, making her a versatile and sought-after leader.

Diana’s leadership style is rooted in empathy, authenticity, and a commitment to empowering others. She excels in negotiations, global brand expansion, relationship building, and team leadership, leveraging her skills to create meaningful connections and drive impactful change. As a community activist and volunteer, she is deeply invested in addressing social issues and creating opportunities for underrepresented voices to thrive.

A graduate of Baruch College with a Bachelor of Business in Corporate Communications and a minor in Psychology, Diana has been recognized for her outstanding contributions to diversity and inclusion. She is a passionate advocate for next-level talent, dedicated to fostering environments where women and diverse professionals can excel.

Diana’s journey as a leader, mentor, and working mother is a testament to her resilience, determination, and unwavering commitment to lifting others as she climbs. Through her work with Latina Professionals and beyond, she continues to inspire women to lead with confidence, embrace their power, and create lasting impact in their communities and industries.
